We are halfway through 2023 and the happenings of Cascade continue to bring evolution and excellent support for students and families. The upcoming quarter will bring inspiring changes. We will transition 9 students between July and August. Their amazing progress has prepared them to return home or attend a boarding school of their choosing. In their place we will welcome new students who begin their Cascade treatment journey. They will benefit from your professional care and patience. We move forward with the 8 bed program, Cascade Home, extending our services of specialized care. Roles will be created and expanded to help support the continuum of care.

2023 has been a time of substantial accomplishment for our Academic Department. All core classes are delivered as a live classroom and instructed by our team of talented educators. We are on track to become an independent institution of education. Our academic team will submit to Cognia Accreditation our comprehensive plan which will eventually allow us to independently issue credits. When students graduate high school, their diploma will read “Cascade Academy”. This is a major accomplishment and a hallmark of an excellent independent private school!

We consistently receive compliments from referring professionals that Cascade is a provider of choice. Every member of our team can be proud of the work they do. Mentors have the most logged training hours and experience levels since opening. The clinical team continues to collaborate training in best practices. This includes training with evidence based modalities such as RO-DBT, EFS, ACT, and BRFB interventions. Recreation therapy conquered the climbing capstones and entered into an equine sequence. This therapy makes experiential learning accessible; yielding life long benefits. Medical services, medication management, chef services, business development, and admissions/marketing all continue to ensure Cascade provides services which are best in class.

I hope you have had a chance to enjoy the summer warmth and revitalize through nature. On a recent walk around Mirror Lake my kids were skipping rocks across the water’s surface. The ripples reminded me of a Cascade value. We believe each person creates ripples of their
own. We have the privilege to impact others now and for generations to come. May our colleagues, our students, and others around us be positively rewarded by our efforts.
