The Academic department at Cascade Academy is Accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). The three listed regional agencies provide our institution with a highly regarded accreditation that is recognized throughout the world. To achieve Cognia accreditation, Cascade Academy adheres to over 30 standards set forth by the organization.
One of the measures that Cascade Academy utilizes in our Cognia Accreditation is the diagnostics test i-Ready. Students are tested in math and language arts to assess their abilities in these areas upon admission and once a quarter. This information is utilized by teachers and clinical staff to make informed decisions based on the results of each student’s assessment. Academic staff assess and implement this information while developing lesson content to help support students on an individual basis. With an understanding of each student’s strengths and weaknesses teachers are able to provide academic interventions that support specific areas of concern.
Cognia supports Cascade Academy’s commitment to provide students with an academic advisor who meets with them twice a week to assess their academic progress and their executive functioning needs. During these assessments advisors help students set and track goals to improve organization, time management and effective communication. These consistent meetings help keep students on track with their academic progress.
Cognia accreditation requires that regular surveys be delivered to students, teachers and parents. These surveys are administered once each quarter to ensure that feedback is considered when making scholastic decisions. In a recent survey, 92% of students reported that their teachers care about them and their educational success. Information such as this helps Cascade Academy strategically address the needs of each of our students.
Cognia accreditation ensures that students who complete graduation requirements receive a diploma from Cascade Academy. Students who return home prior to finishing their graduation requirements have certified credits that will transfer to their home district.
