Porter Roe
Program Director
Brief info
While pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Porter accepted a position as a direct care staff and began his career in mental health. This instilled within him a strong passion for working with adolescents. Throughout his career Porter has had the privilege of working side by side with seasoned professionals who have mentored and directed him on his path toward service leadership. This experience has served him well in his role as instructor, trainer, supervisor and mentor to residential staff, therapists, teachers and students. Porter’s leadership style values structure and accountability while working relationally with others to encourage support, compassion and cooperation.
Service towards others has always been an important part of Porter’s personal life. He has led numerous humanitarian projects around the world and has enjoyed building homes for those in need. Recognizing the power that comes from authentic relationships is largely what drove him to continue his service at Cascade Academy. He is eager to help adolescent girls struggling with anxiety and OCD to find the courage to confront their fears and self-imposed limitations while learning to be comfortable being uncomfortable. When he is not at Cascade Academy you will likely find Porter downhill skiing, open water swimming in one of Utah’s lakes, or enjoying a meal at a local taco truck.
