Andrea graduated from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Depth Psychology. She has experience working with children and teens, as well as couples and families, at Utah Family Counseling Center and James Mason Center for Recovery. Andrea’s clinical approach utilizes Exposure Response Prevention, Family Systems, Attachment theory, Jungian Therapy, Expressive Arts therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic psychology. She strives always to be trauma informed to make compassionate connections. Her skill set is the perfect fit to treat the students at Cascade Academy.
Andrea loves to help kids discover and use their strengths as a basis for ongoing resilience. She has worked to help at-risk teens create a healthy approach to self-discovery and identity development in multiple environments. She believes that healing emotional wounds can be an invitation to nurturing the unique gifts. Andrea views inner work as a potential source of creativity and renewed play when families learn to reconnect to a sense of mutual support and encouragement in each other’s journeys.
In her free time, Andrea loves to be outdoors hiking, meditating, diving, and exploring. She loves literature, film, music, and dance. She has traveled the world extensively and now lives in Salt Lake City with her fur babies. Andrea looks forward to becoming certified in animal assisted therapies in the coming years.
