Amy is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor who comes to Cascade with a passion for assisting teens in their freedom from self-judgment and anxiety. Amy graduated from Florida State University with a combined Master of Science/Education Specialist Degree in Clinical Mental Health in 2014. Since that time, she has worked with teens and families in a variety of treatment settings, including outpatient, day treatment and acute hospitalization. Amy’s clinical approach is primarily centered in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with specialized training in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). It is her mission at Cascade Academy to ensure that every teen feels safe, understood and celebrated so that they may go on to embrace life with courage and joy!
When not at work, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, including her partner Mike and their Aussiedoodle, Rudy GoDog. A native Conch (from the Florida Keys), Amy enjoys getting any time in the outdoors and connecting with others through mutual love of nature.
