For teen girls with anxiety, overcoming fears can take on many forms.
This week, Cascade Academy students got to spend some quality time at Daybreak Pastures, a local farm specifically designed to improve mental health. During our time at the farm, our students learned how to care for the chickens, goats and horses. While they were initially intimidated by the size of the horses, the girls enjoyed the confidence they felt after successfully grooming, leading, and feeding such large animals.
Next week Cascade students will help establish a home on the farm for baby chicks expected to hatch this week! We are proud to be offering this interaction as a regular experience. Already, we can see the growth that comes when we learn to overcome anxiety while interacting with animals.
