Our mentors serve at the forefront of everything we do here at Cascade Academy. As mentors they have direct contact with our students throughout each day. As they coach and direct our students, they are the first to know about bad days and physical ailments, as well as achievements and successes! Their most meaningful purpose is to stand as an example while providing a support system for the students of Cascade Academy.
Over the past year and a half there has been growth, change and improvement at Cascade Academy. Hannah Carter, a lead mentor, has been a witness, as well as an integral part of that growth. Hannah was here the day our first student arrived and has supported every student that has come to Cascade Academy. She exemplifies hard work and compassion.
When asked about her experience at Cascade Academy Hannah responded, “Working at Cascade as a full-time employee has been one of the greatest opportunities of my life. While here I have had the pleasure of learning new ways of thinking and have been able to assist them on their individual journeys to healing and living healthy lives. I’m grateful for individuals here who have taught me needed skills in working with adolescents and those who are struggling with mental health. As I move forward in this field, I will be taking the knowledge I’ve gained about negotiation and conflict resolution, rapport building, and many others with me. Cascade Academy will always be a foundational piece of my work as a mental health professional, and I am grateful for the time I have been able to spend here.”
Hannah is returning to school to pursue a postgraduate degree as an MSW to become an LCSW. Cascade Academy is so grateful for the countless hours she has spent alongside our students helping them through difficult growth opportunities. Hannah will continue as a mentor on a limited basis while she completes her studies. Good luck Hannah!
