A native of Illinois, Sarah received her BA from Eastern Illinois University and completed her teaching certification through Northern New Mexico College. She obtained an endorsement in Teaching English as a Second Language through Brigham Young University. Sarah is deeply committed to focusing on students’ individual strengths along with their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Sarah has been teaching English since 2005. She taught at Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah, for eleven years before coming to Cascade Academy. At Wasatch, she taught in the Alternative Education Program where she was able to utilize both her Education and Social Service background. Prior to that, she taught Special Education in Jemez Springs, New Mexico.
Sarah loves gardening, is an avid reader and, as a Utah transplant, enjoys exploring the state with family and friends. Sarah is a lifelong learner with a natural drive to pursue formal and informal educational opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
