Becky is a retired School Counselor/Teacher who has found her way into the world of residential treatment as a meaningful and satisfying second career. Working with adolescents is just who she is and she loves it. She received her Bachelor’s in English and History from the University of Utah and teaching certificate from Utah State University. She taught in the Middle School for many years until moving on to Counseling in the Middle School. She received her Master’s in Secondary School Counseling from the University of Phoenix. As an academic counselor she worked with her counseling team to present College and Career student/parent workshops focused on Graduation Requirements, AP/Concurrent Enrollment, FAFSA, Early Graduation, ACT, SAT, and AP practice testing, etc. In addition to academic counseling she and her team generated Suicide Prevention, Girls Relational Aggression and Bully Prevention curriculum. Becky also facilitated counseling groups for Grief, Friendship, Study Skills, Divorce, Girls’ Group, Finding Joy, etc. Becky believes that the work she is involved in should always be a team effort and is excited to be a part of the Cascade Academy team.
Becky is the mother of three beautiful grown women and the grandmother of four fabulous, rambunctious grandchildren. She loves spending her spare time with her family. She also enjoys biking, sewing, reading and spending time with her wonderful tribe of friends. This summer she hopes to learn to kayak!
