Brief info

Alyson was born in raised in a small town in Utah. She graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s degree in teaching and social studies. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she moved to Ohio to continue her education where she received her masters degree from Ohio University in history.

Upon completing her education, she spent 5 years teaching world history at Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana. Alyson has also worked at private high schools and tutored students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.

Alyson has spent a lot of time studying teaching styles, classroom management, and organization. She loves teaching and finding creative ways to make it come alive. She has enjoyed working at Cascade because she feels like she is helping to make a difference. Alyson herself has spent a lot of her life dealing with anxiety and has a lot of compassion for our students who struggle.

She loves reading history and is currently working on a fantasy story. She has been working on it for years and has enjoyed the process. She also enjoys writing short stories. In her free to she loves to listen to all kinds of music and she loves her cat. Traveling to places she has learned about is one of her favorite things!
